Bloody hell, what can I say. I threw up.

That was tough last night, very tough. One hour of practice and then an hour of fighting. I really can’t remember much from the last half hour, I remember asking permission to go throw up and then getting thrown, followed by ‘oh go on then’.

You all will have to help me with the details…

  1. Harry Smith says:

Dehydration and absolute exaustion were my enemies last night. What a great session though. The most intense exercise I have ever done! And that is really saying something.

Also learned some great groundwork ‘tricks’ which I won’t forget in a hurry.

Was good to do the standing randori at the end as well, it shows you how difficult it is to throw someone who is also trained. I was thrown time and time again by James, well done.

    Thanks for last nite everyone.

    • Yes on a practical note everyone should be drinking small amounts of water during training and should really eat beforehand. I am told high carb fruit like bananas are good and won’t give you indigestion if eaten an hour before. I did none of the above and that’s my excuse!!

  2. James Pipe says:

Great session last night… I agree with Harry, that was the most exhausted I’ve been in a long time! I went home dehydrated, the wind knocked out of me, bruised, battered and literally shaking… didn’t throw up though… 😉

After an early start to catch a flight this morning I’ve been wandering around the office today wondering why people are giving me funny looks…. it turns out now that I am back at the hotel that I’ve developed a bit of a black eye from getting smacked during groundwork. All good fun eh?!?

I really enjoyed myself last night… Cracking throw from Ian during randori that came out of nowhere and left me flat on my back! Apologies again to Tom for the rather effective choke… But I am still rather proud of the fact that I made John Sensei tap out… even if he did let me get the choke on first!

    See you all Thursday!

  3. My worst injury was when you landed from that throw onto my foot with your head so I don’t know how your head is doing. I hope the black eye wasn’t me when I elbowed you, sorry about that James.

Absolutely great session, many thanks to Sensei John.
