Monday 25th July

I made my triumphant return to training last night after a weeks absence due to dark restaurants and suicides at Wimbledon.

Sensei Alan wasn’t present, I’m assuming someone triggered the smurf signal on his way over and he had to run to the rescue. Fortunately the other two Senseis were present and conspiring. It was bloody hot again and the first half of the class, which was led by Sensei Dan, was spent in t shirts practicing moving on our feet whilst throwing/dodging punches, which as it turns out is much more complicated than expected. Sensei John then took the reins and we spent a good hour throwing each other around, with an emphasis on shoulder throws.

Good class all, thanks for helping dust off the cobwebs!

Really good class last night. A bit sore this morning from John Sensei’s rolling breakfall 😉

A small correction to the above post – SOME of the dedicated few wore gi’s for the first half as well as the second half… You know what they say, if you can’t handle the heat…

Many thanks to Dan Sensei for stepping up and leading the first half of the class. Keep it coming!

I think conspiring is a good term to use there Gary…

It’s been noted that the lack of movement with the feet is hampering all the good work that you do with the hands, arms, hips etc. So I took it upon my self to get your feet moving in a simple way – and yes that WAS simple. If you want complicated I’ll bring a 12 point movement drill that goes around the whole body 360 degrees (not just 45!!!)

Top effort by all and l’d just like to say again that the quality of the throws at the end of the session was excellent (speaking for John Sensei too)

Just to let everyone know Smurf Sensei is lacking in an Internet connection. He will be training tonight so feel free to tell him the class was awesome because wasn’t there!!! Uhhhh sorry I mean the class was awesome even though he wasn’t there… Yep that sounds about right :oP
