A very hot night in the dojo .

Gary was slightly injured so varied ukes stepped up to the plate especially Chris who uked for the pics ..thanks for doing that ..and thanks to James P for the photography.

A solid core of 7 on the mats doing hold downs and ground defences as well as some atemi and stick work …

See you Thursday work permitting

  1. James Pipe says:

Great class last night. Lots of variations for different applications on familiar techniques and some stick work to finish. Gotta get me a stick!!!

Anyone else in pain this morning? About two hours after training my left foot started to throb and is hard to walk on today… Hope to see you all Thursday!

  2. alansmurf says:

    I never touched your foot……….. or did I !!!!

    Is it OK now ?

  3. James Pipe says:

Seems a lot better now, it is strapped up and rested, but all last night it was very painful. I must have pulled something during the ankle twisting which only surfaced once I had cooled down.

Smurf, you didn’t touch my foot, but I’ve still got half a dead leg!!! Really enjoyed the stick work, any chance of a bit more of that?

Chris – are you still alive after that breakfall???

  4. Yeah I’m fine, sounds like I’m the only one who survived. Hope you got a good picture of the first ouchi gari.

  5. the ginger one... says:

Wish I was there – need to train

  6. James Pipe says:

    Dan – you were missed!

Chris – a good picture? Nope, several! I caught the whole thing start to finish at 5 frames per second!

  7. James Pipe says:

Oh dear, now I’ve figured out how to upload pictures to the blog… this could be dangerous!!!

  8. James Pipe says:

Its called putting the Ouch in the Ouchi Gari…

    Sorry, that was lame.
